Audix FireBall

Audix’s FireBall harmonica microphone may be palm-sized, but it keeps a full-size dynamic capsule inside its anodized aluminum housing. It’ll provide a full-bodied sound for both chromatic and diatonic harps, and it’ll withstand sound pressure levels in excess of 140 dB without distorting. Audix gave the FireBall a wide frequency response of 50 Hz to 16 kHz and says it’s built so that no matter how close you cup it in your hand, the sound will never get muddy.

Musical Drumming in Different Styles

On this double-DVD set from Hudson Music, Gregg Bissonette-who has drummed for Maynard Ferguson, Santana, Larry Carlton, Don Henley and Ringo Starr, among others-explains and demonstrates techniques for playing in varying styles. More than four hours of footage cover topics like playing odd times, playing in clave, articulating in fast tempos and with a big band, an analysis of Tony Williams’ style and the importance of understanding the piano. In addition to a helpful camera-angle changing function, the DVD also contains printable PDF files with written transcriptions of what’s being taught.
