Pianist Greg Burk (a native of Lansing, Mich., now living in Rome) turns in 13 irreverent interpretations of Bach’s “Invention #1,” including a prepared-piano rendition along with Afro-Cuban, avant-garde, Moog, vocal and various other mutant versions. He is joined by percussionist Lebron (bandmates in Boston’s Either/Orchestra) for some spirited interludes between these Bach exercises, like the clave-fueled percussion jams “Rubastica,” “Guateke,” “Little Taste” and “Tropical Turbulence.”
