WBGO to Stream Newport Jazz Fest Sets

Aug. 4-5 shows will include Ryan Truesdell, Tedeschi-Trucks, Bad Plus and more

On Saturday, August 4 through Sunday, August 5, beginning at 11 a.m., jazz radio station WBGO will stream live performances from the Newport Jazz Festival on WBGO 88.3FM and WBGO.org.

On Saturday, in order of appearance, listeners can check out sets by John Ellis and Double-Wide; the Jack DeJohnette group ; Dafnis Prieto Sextet; Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society; The Bad Plus and Bill Frisell; and Three Clarinets: Evan Christopher, Anat Cohen and Ken Peplowski.

On Sunday, WBGO will stream the Lewis Nash Quintet; Jenny Scheinman and Bill Frisell; Kurt Elling; Ryan Truesdell’s Gil Evans Project; Rudresh Mahanthappa and Samdhi; Three Cohens – Anat, Avishai and Yuval; John Hollenbeck and The Claudia Quintet; and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
