The Jazz Gallery, a New York City venue that has been presenting jazz for the past 17 years, will lose its lease in December and will have to move. In order to help raise funds for the impending relocation, the venue, at 290 Hudson Street, is hosting a benefit concert tonight starting 8 p.m. (preceded at 6:30 by a wine and cheese reception).

Scheduled participants include Claudia Acuña, Kenny Barron, Johnathan Blake, Ravi Coltrane, Roy Hargrove, Vijay Iyer, Kiyoshi Kitagawa, Lionel Loueke, Grégoire Maret, Andy Milne, Linda Oh, Dafnis Prieto, Henry Threadgill and more.

A notice on the club’s website says, “We take great pride in our track record of supporting the artistic development of generations of outstanding jazz musicians. We are committed to continue presenting concerts, commissioning new work, and providing free rehearsal space to our roster of exceptional artists. But we won’t be able to do it without your help. Please join us for an evening of music to benefit our search for a new home.”
