NYC Concert Monday Will Benefit Thomas Chapin Film Project

John Zorn, Matt Wilson and others to perform

A benefit concert event will take place on Monday, Jan. 20, at City Winery in New York, with proceeds going toward an in-the-works film about the late saxophonist and composer Thomas Chapin. Chapin died of leukemia at age 40 in 1998 and the film on his life and work is being created by Emmy-winning filmmaker Stephanie J. Castillo.

The performance will include John Zorn, Mario Pavone, Matt Wilson, Marty Erlich, Ned Rothenberg, Roy Nathanson, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Pablo Aslan, Bob Musso, Arthur Kell, Steven Bernstein, Marcus Rojas and more. It takes place at City Winery, 155 Varick Street, Mon., Jan. 20th, from 8-10 p.m.

Tickets cost $25 for stools, $50 for seats, and $125 for a VIP ticket includes food with the musicians.Tickets are being sold at Thomas Chapin Film Fundraiser.
