Marcus Roberts to Play JALC Gigs with 12-Piece Band

Oct. 12-13 shows will feature unrecorded suite, ‘Romance, Swing and Blues’

Pianist Marcus Roberts will perform next weekend, Oct. 12-13, at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater with a 12-piece ensemble. Roberts will revisit his unrecorded suite “Romance, Swing and the Blues,” which debuted at JALC in 1993 on the occasion of his 30th birthday. There is a free pre-concert discussion nightly at 7pm.

The ensemble includes Marcus Roberts, piano; Rodney Jones, bass; Jason Marsalis, drums; Marcus Printup, trumpet; Alphonse Horne, trumpet; Etienne Charles, trumpet; Tim Blackmon Jr., trumpet; Ron Westray, trombone; Joe Goldberg, clarinet; Stephen Riley, tenor saxophone; Ricardo Pascal, tenor and soprano saxophones; and Tissa Khosla, baritone saxophone.

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater is located in the Time Warner Center in New York, New York, Broadway at 60th St., 5th floor. 8pm.

Ticket prices are $10, $30, $50, $75, $95 or $120 dependent upon seating section. All tickets can be purchased through JALC or CenterCharge at 212-721-6500, open daily from 10am to 9pm. Tickets can also be purchased at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Box Office, located on Broadway at 60th Street, ground floor. Box Office hours: Monday-Saturday from 10am to 6pm (or 30 minutes past curtain) and Sunday from noon to 6pm (or 30 minutes past curtain.)
