Jazz Photos of William P. Gottlieb to Be Exhibited

Bowdoin College Museum in Maine will show 40 classic shots

“On 52nd Street: The Jazz Photographs of William P. Gottlieb,” described as “the first exhibition featuring Gottlieb’s vintage photographs of America’s jazz legends during the 1940s,” will open July 10 at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine. The exhibition will feature 40 vintage photographic portraits from the rarely exhibited Gottlieb family collection. The exhibition will remain open until September 14.
