Jazz at Lincoln Center Announces 2012-13 Season

25th anniversary season includes six new festivals

Jazz at Lincoln Center has announced its 25th anniversary season, including festivals, concerts, education events and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra’s touring schedule. JALC will launch six new festivals: John Coltrane Festival, Duke Ellington Festival, Chick Corea Festival, Birth of the Cool Festival, the Best of Blue Note Festival and the Dizzy & Bird Festival, with performances in JALC’s Rose Theater, the Allen Room and Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola.

The 2012-13 season also includes concerts honoring Toots Thielemans: Celebrating 90 Years, Joe Henderson’s 75th Birthday, and Eddie Palmieri-A Career Retrospective. Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis’ Pulitzer-winning Blood on the Fields will be performed in its entirety for the first time in New York since its premiere in 1994. For the first time, Jazz at Lincoln Center will celebrate the New Year with Ring in the Swing: A New Year’s Eve Dance Party in The Allen Room.
