Guitarists Eric Johnson and Mike Stern will release a collaborative album, Eclectic, October 28 via Heads Up/Concord Music Group.

Recorded at Johnson’s studio in his native Austin, Texas, the album features the rhythm section of drummer Anton Fig (a longstanding member in the Paul Shaffer-led house band of Late Night With David Letterman) and Johnson’s regular bassist Chris Maresh. Special guests include singer Malford Milligan and Mike’s wife, Leni Stern, who provides vocals and plays n’goni (an African stringed instrument) on two tracks. Christopher Cross sings backup vocals on the bridge to Stern’s “Wishing Well,” with Stern singing the verses. Guy Forsyth contributes blues harp to “Red House” and Johnson’s “Hullabaloo” features the horn section of saxophonist John Mills, trombonist Mike Mordecai and trumpeter Andrew Johnson.
