Throughout September, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola will host the fifth annual Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival. The festival kicks off on Labor Day, September 1 with vocalist Michael Mwenso showcasing the compositions of Fats Waller.

The opening week also includes concerts by the Mason Brothers Quartet featuring JCLO’s Eliot Mason, as well as a one-night-only performance by multi-instrumentalist Bria Skonberg. Joe Temperley, a founding member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), celebrates his 85th birthday during the opening festival weekend, with concerts that find him supported by the Jonathan Batiste Trio, trumpeter Bruce Harris and vocalist Brianna Thomas.

The Roy Haynes Fountain of Youth Band is set to perform for four nights and will feature Haynes with Jaleel Shaw on alto saxophone, Martin Bejerano on piano and David Wong on bass. Other festival highlights include Monty Alexander, the Heath Brothers and the Peter & Will Anderson Quintet.
