The Brubeck Brothers Quartet-Chris Brubeck (trombone and bass), Dan Brubeck (drums), Chuck Lamb (piano) and Mike De Micco (guitar)-will tour Russia from Sept. 13-26. The group will present concerts and educational programs in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Efremov and Samara.
The tour will begin Sept. 17 in Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Concert Hall as part of the Russian National Orchestra Grand Festival. American conductor Joel Revzen will lead the RNO. The program will feature the Russian premiere of Chris Brubeck’s double concerto for trombone and trumpet with orchestra. Titled “The Blues & Beyond,” the concerto will feature soloists Chris Brubeck (trombone) and Vladislav Lavrik (trumpet). Russian saxophonist Igor Butman will join the RNO and BBQ in playing material by Chris and Dan’s father, Dave Brubeck.

featuring the Russian National Orchestra led by Maestro Joel Revzen, Brubeck Brothers Quartet, guest artist Igor Butman, and soloists of the RNO.
Tuesday, September 19 – “Jazz Day in Efremov presents BBQ + 2” The Brubeck Brothers Quartet and RNO soloists Vladislav Lavrik (trumpet) and Maxim Rubtsov (flute).
Thursday, September 21 – “Jazz Day in Samara” The Brubeck Brothers Quartet and RNO soloists Vladislav Lavrik (trumpet) and Maxim Rubtsov (flute).
Saturday, September 22 – 7pm “International Brass Days Festival – Jazz Day” at the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, The Brubeck Brothers Quartet with Igor Butman (saxophone), Vladislav Lavrik (trumpet), Maxim Rubtsov (flute) and the Akademik Band of Gnesin Academy conducted by Anatoly Kroll.
Tuesday, September 25 – 7pm “The Brubeck Brothers Quartet – Jazz at Mariinsky” with Vladislav Lavrik (trumpet) and Maxim Rubtsov (flute), Mariinsky Concert Hall, St. Petersburg.
