Baltimore Jazz Alliance to Host Composers’ Showcase Sunday

New compositions to premiere

The Baltimore Jazz Alliance will present the second Baltimore Jazz Composers’ Showcase this Sunday, Sept. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the McManus Theatre at Loyola University. The event will premiere four new compositions from Baltimore area jazz artists. According to BJA President Mark Osteen, the Showcase is the first competition of its kind in Baltimore history. The new works, along with an additional six compositions, will be performed by the Baltimore Jazz Alliance Quintet, led by Anthony Villa of Loyola University.
