8th Annual Monte Carlo’s Jazz Festival Set for Nov. 26-30

The 8th annual Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival, presented by Monte-Carlo SBM, will take place Nov. 26-30 in the Salle Garnier at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. This year’s lineup will include Brad Mehldau, who will open the festival with drummer Mark Guiliana in their duo project Mehliana. Performing on the same night will be the Larry Coryell and Juan Carmona Quartet.

On Nov. 27, the Marcus Miller Band and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will collaborate, directed by Damon Gupton. Appearing with them will be Robert Glasper on piano, singer Kenn Hicks, and Brazilian harpist Edmar Castaneda.

On Nov. 28, John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussain will perform and Nov. 29 will be dedicated to today’s young talents of the European jazz scene, including Raphael Gualazzi, an Italian pianist. The festival will conclude on the 30th with Maceo Parker, James Hunter and Charles Pasi.
