3rd NY Hot Jazz Festival Set for May 3

Wycliffe Gordon, Bill Charlap, Nicki Parrott among artists booked

The third annual New York Hot Jazz Festival will take place at the Players at 16 Gramercy Park South in Manhattan on May 3, from noon to 2 a.m. This year the festival is expanding into swing music with bands such as Andy Farber’s 17-piece After Midnight Orchestra (formerly known as Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars), as well as Wycliffe Gordon & Friends. Additionally, according to a press release, Australian bassist and vocalist Nicki Parrott, will lead a trio featuring cornetist Warren Vaché. Other performers include Bill Charlap, Bria Skonberg and Her Jazz Compatriots, Evan Christopher’s Clarinet Road, Stephane Wrembel and the Hot Sardines.
