The second Napa Valley Jazz Getaway will take place June 5-9. Taking place in California’s wine country, the event will be headlined by festival founder and artistic director Brian Culbertson and will also star Take 6; Ray Parker Jr.; Norman Brown and Kirk Whalum united with Rick Braun as BWB; Larry Graham and Graham Central Station; saxophonists Eric Darius and Michael Lington; guitarist Nick Colionne, R&B vocalist Selina Albright; keyboardist Cecil Ramirez; party band DW3 and special guest comedian Sinbad.

The 2013 edition of Napa Valley Jazz Getaway, according to a press release, “offers new events and larger concert venues-Napa Valley Opera House and Lincoln Theater-to host the star-studded performances. Several wineries will be the scene for more intimate shows including a rare solo piano set by Culbertson staged in a wine cave, which was one of the highlights of last year’s event.”

Culbertson fashioned the event, says the release, “to be an extraordinary interactive lifestyle experience at which fans share their ardor for wine and jazz with the musicians while dining, during wine receptions and tastings, at autograph sessions, at a golf tournament, and at casual post-concert hangs.” A silent auction and wine reception will be held in support of music education to benefit the Grammy Foundation prior to the June 8th concert at which many of the winery partners will provide complimentary pourings.”
