Pro-Ject E1 turntable ($349 to $499)

The E1 is the latest budget turntable from Pro-Ject, building on a basic design the company introduced in the early 1990s, which has been earning praise from audiophiles ever since. It comes in three versions: the basic E1 at $349; the $399 E1 Phono with a built-in phono preamp; and the $499 E1 BT, with a built-in preamp and Bluetooth transmitter. Although it’s fully adjustable, the E1 is basically plug ’n’ play—factory-adjusted for the included Ortofon OM 5e cartridge.
