The original Otto Link Tone Edge EB (Early Babbitt) tenor saxophone mouthpieces were made in the mid-to-late 1970s, shortly after jj Babbitt acquired the company and moved it from Pompano Beach, Florida to its current home in Elkhart, Indiana. In later years, as mouthpiece design evolved, Tone Edges of this vintage were increasingly prized for their warm, powerful sound. Nearly five decades on, Babbitt is bowing to demand by re-releasing the Tone Edge EBs, using the same molds and the same vulcanization process.
