The Thrill Is Back
The great bluesman B.B. King (1925-2015) owned many Gibson guitars named Lucille, and they didn’t all look alike, but the most well-known ones were modeled on the semi-hollow ES-355, with a few customizations—like a Varitone switch and no F-holes (less feedback that way). Now Gibson is releasing a deluxe version of this world-famous axe called the B.B. King Lucille Legacy. The appointments are, as you’d expect, regal: a figured maple body that’s visible under the Transparent Ebony finish, gold hardware, a TP-6 tailpiece with fine tuners, split-block mother-of-pearl inlays, and a pair of custom humbuckers.
