Remy Le Boeuf isn’t afraid of beauty. The second release featuring his Assembly of Shadows big band doesn’t tell a sweeping story like the group’s 2019 eponymous debut, but Architecture of Storms might be even more satisfying as he continues to develop a sumptuous orchestral language drawing on minimalism, 1970s film scores, Mingus, and Gil Evans.
