Vermont isn’t often thought of as a hotbed for jazz, but the Vermont Jazz Center in Brattleboro is doing its best to change that perception. Now a going concern for more than 20 years, the Center has gained a reputation for great acoustics and savvy programming. And this April, it will host its third annual Solo Piano Festival, featuring an enviable list of headliners: George Cables, Joanne Brackeen, Kenny Werner, and Julius Rodriguez. A number of regional artists will also be featured.
The Solo Piano Festival runs Friday, Apr. 12 through Sunday, Apr. 14 and includes a variety of master classes as well as performances. Evening concerts will take place at the Center, while daytime events will be held at the nearby Brattleboro Music Center.
