The 4th annual Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World Festival will take place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, N.Y. on July 8. Curated by Jon Batiste, the day-long event will feature performances by Batiste with his band Stay Human, members of the Dap-Kings and Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, with additional performers to be added. The festival will conclude with Batiste’s signature “love riot” street parade.
In addition, the Louis Armstrong House Museum will host a specially curated exhibit for the festival including rare photos plus a presentation by archivist and author Ricky Riccardi, an expert on Armstrong and author of What a Wonderful World: The Magic of Louis Armstrong’s Later Years.
