Shorty Fest, a showcase for up-and-coming jazz, blues, funk, rock and soul acts, is scheduled for Thursday, May 4 at House of Blues New Orleans. Eight acts will perform on two stages, including Seratones, New Breed Brass Band, The Main Squeeze, Sexual Thunder, MainLine, Voices of a Nation, Peterson Brothers and Trombone Shorty Academy students. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue with Ivan Neville will close the evening.
Proceeds benefit the Trombone Shorty Foundation whose stated mission is “to preserve and perpetuate the unique musical culture of New Orleans by passing down its traditions to future generations of musicians.”
