Entertainment Cruise Productions (ECP) has announced a five-year partnership with Blue Note Records and Blue Note Jazz Clubs for its Contemporary Jazz Cruise, which is scheduled to set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Feb. 4, and features six Blue Note artists-musical director for the cruise Marcus Miller, Terence Blanchard, the Robert Glasper Trio, Aaron Parks and Gregory Porter, along with Blue Note alumni Dianne Reeves and Chucho Valdes.
Rebranded as Blue Note at Sea, the cruise is the third of ECP’s jazz charters and one which includes “a vast array of jazz that has its bones and structure from ‘straight ahead,’ but allows for greater expression and interpretation,” ECP’s executive director Michael Lazaroff said in a press release.
Joining the six Blue Note artists will be 28 other artists, including Pat Metheny, Wycliffe Gordon and the Bad Plus. Collectively, the 34 artists have won over 50 Grammy Awards.
Blue Note at Sea will travel to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti from Feb. 4 through Feb. 11. For more information, including ticket prices and the full lineup, visit thecontemporaryjazzcruise.com.
