18th Django Reinhardt Festival Scheduled for July 4-9

Performances feature Django Festival Allstars plus "Young Women in Jazz" special guests

The 18th Django Reinhardt Festival at NYC’s Birdland (315 W. 44th St.) will take place from July 4-9 as the final stop of the Django Festival Allstars summer tour. The festival, which premiered in 2000, focuses on presenting gypsy jazz as developed by Reinhardt and his contemporaries.

The Allstars (guitarists Samson Schmitt and Doudou Cuillerier, accordionist Ludovic Beier, violinist Pierre Blanchard and bassist Antonio Licusati) will be joined at the festival by “Young Women in Jazz” special guests for two nights each:
