Winter Jazzfest in New York City has announced the first wave of artists for its 16th edition. The festival, which will run from Jan. 9-18, 2020, will feature more than 150 groups on 20 stages in select venues throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Some highlights will include a British jazz showcase, featuring Moses Boyd, Kokoroko, Sarathy Korwar, and Poppy Ajudha; a celebration of trumpeter Marcus Belgrave, including performances by Ron Carter, Sheila Jordan, and Louis Hayes; a celebration of Art Blakey; and a performance by Brazilian singer and guitarist Seu Jorge at Town Hall.

Drummer, composer, and electronic explorer Mark Guiliana will be the festival’s artist-in-residence.
