Set times for the 2017 Newport Jazz Festival, taking place Aug. 4-6 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I., have been announced. This year’s lineup is expectedly stellar and diverse, and includes Cécile McLorin Salvant, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Branford Marsalis Quartet, Snarky Puppy, Christian McBride Big Band, Henry Threadgill Zooid, Benny Golson, Antonio Sanchez and Migration, Jason Moran’s Fats Waller Dance Party, the Roots, Bokanté, Hudson (DeJohnette/Grenadier/Medeski/Scofield), Tim Berne’s Snakeoil and many more. This year’s edition will again feature the smaller indoor Storyville stage for solo and small-scale performances.
