The Newport Jazz Festival’s 2021 return to live performance is solidifying: The legendary festival announced today at least some of the lineup for its three-day proceedings this summer.

Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island will once again come alive from July 30 to August 1, with tickets going on sale on June 3 at 11 a.m. Eastern. Audiences can purchase single tickets, three-day passes, and discounted tickets for children and students.

The 2021 festival will feature Robert Glasper as its artist in residence. In addition, bassist and Newport Jazz Artistic Director Christian McBride will be a featured performer, both leading his band A Christian McBride Situation and as a member of the Jam Jawn supergroup with John Scofield, Marco Benevento, and Joe Russo.

The festival will be making use of COVID-19 safety protocols, but complete details are still to come.
