Drummer Eric Harland brought his ensemble Voyager to New York City’s Highline Ballroom on Sept. 2, where the group elaborated on material from its new Vipassana album. Playing non-stop for more than 90 minutes, Harland, saxophonist Walter Smith III, guitarists Julian Lage and Nir Felder, keyboardist Taylor Eigsti, bassist Harish Raghavan and vocalist Chris Turner, augmented by electric bassist Mark Kelley of the Roots, enraptured the packed room.
