The 24th Annual Jazz Loft Party benefitting the Jazz Foundation of America took place last Saturday, May 16, in New York City. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the rebirth of New Orleans following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the event featured sets by such luminaries as the Heath Brothers, Randy Weston, Kenny Barron, Macy Gray, Bettye LaVette, Savion Glover and others. Among the hosts and celebrities attending were Danny Glover, former New York Mayor David Dinkins, Wyclef Jean, Chelsea Clinton and Dr. Cornel West.
