Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal celebrated his 80th birthday with a performance alongside his all-star British ensemble, led by Noel Langley, at the hall in London’s Barbican Centre on July 9.
Performers from around the U.K. included trumpeters Henry Lowther, Chris Batchelor, George Hogg, Tom Rees-Roberts and Becca Toft; trombonists Pete Beachill, Richard Wigley, Sarah Williams, Richard Henry and Owen Dawson; saxophonists Phil Todd, Jason Yarde, Tori Freestone, Chris Biscoe and Julian Siegel; guitar/violinist Stuart Hall; pianist Naadia Sheriff; bassist Michael Mondesir and drummer Mark Mondesir.
