The Matthew Whitaker Quartet

About
The South Beach Jazz Festival presents 19-year-old phenomenon Matthew Whitaker, a stunning talent sharing positivity and joy on the piano and Hammond B-3 organ. Recognized as a prodigy since he was a child, Whitaker won Amateur Night at the Apollo at age nine and became the youngest artist ever endorsed by Hammond for his skills. The following year, at age ten, he performed at Stevie Wonder’s induction to the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. He has since toured the world and performed at hundreds of major events and jazz festivals, appeared on shows including The Today Show, Ellen, and CBS Sunday Morning, and he has won countless awards. Now 19, he comes to the Bandshell with his quartet, part of the 2021 South Beach Jazz Festival. The bandshell is on Collins Avenue and 73rd Street.
Showtime is January 8 at 8:00 PM. The festival is presented by Power Access with support from Yamaha Entertainment Group, City of Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council, and Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Department, and produced by KCC Productions. This event is presented live at the Bandshell, with a reduced capacity audience. Mandatory Covid-19 safety protocols are in place. Tickets are $35- $75 https://sobejazzfestival.com/tickets/
