About

Taught by Ben Young, this eight-week survey of the history of jazz is designed to suit the needs of absolute beginners who want to know more, and also longtime fans who could use a brush-up on the entire breadth of the music’s history. The classroom situation is very low-stress: Just come listen to the sounds and the stories, and you’ll walk away with a clear understanding of jazz’s stylistic development. Dates: MAR 24, MAR 31, APR 7, APR 21, APR 28, MAY 5, MAY 12 & MAY 19. (APR 14 is break week: CLASS WILL NOT MEET.)
