Guitarist Glenn Crytzer and the Savoy Seven bring their “vintage American jazz” to Rockport for their Shalin Liu Performance Center debut! Their superlative musicianship and unbridled swing is fueled by each musician’s genuine love for playing pre-war jazz, bringing to life the music of this bygone age with stunning authenticity.

The Savoy Seven is a small-combo offshoot of the Glenn Crytzer Orchestra, winners of the Hot House Magazine Award for Best Jazz Group in New York in 2017. The GCO’s repertoire includes the music of the great big bands—such as those led by Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, and Duke Ellington—while the Savoy Seven focuses on small-band repertoire from the same time period, including the above artists as well as Fats Waller, John Kirby, Sidney Bechet, and more. The band also continues to expand the repertoire by performing Crytzer’s original “vintage-style” compositions and arrangements.
