About

Continuing its over quarter-century tradition of bringing award-winning jazz musicians to the City for intimate, memorable performances, The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society will host a concert by Grammy nominated jazz pianist Christian Sands on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

Singularly talented pianist and five-time Grammy Award nominee Christian Sands is stretching into exciting progressive territory as he breaks new ground traversing from the straight-ahead zone into fresh-sounding music influenced by a range of styles. He takes a fresh look at the entire language of jazz: stride, swing, bebop, progressive, fusion, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban. At only 27 years old, “Sands is skilled, soulful and melodic throughout, his energy and spirit altering with each tune” (Noisey). Musicians Jerome Jennings (drums) and Eric Wheeler (bass) will be featured on this program. More information is available at http://www.christiansandsjazz.com

The Christian Sands Group concert takes place at 5 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Art (10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218). Tickets are $45 General Admission, $43 Seniors over 65 and Baltimore Museum of Art members, and $10 for students. More information is available at http://www.baltimorechamberjazz.org, on the Jazz Society’s Facebook page or by calling (410) 385-5888.
