Featuring material originally performed at the ALJO Performance Series show “ALJO+AFROBEAT=FELA,” presented at Symphony Space in NYC in January of 2019 celebrating the music and spirit of the great Fela Kuti.

Several of the special guests from that show are taking part: Sahr Ngaujah (vocals), Wunmi (vocals), Tosin Aribisala (drums and vocals), and Bryan Vargas (guitars). Recorded remotely from locations as diverse as Lagos, Madrid, Los Angeles, Montreal and New York City, Arturo O’Farrill and the mighty Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra are reviving their Sunday -ight Birdland residency in an online setting. Accompanied by live chat and commentary from Arturo and the ALJO musicians.
