42nd Annual North Carolina Jazz Festival
One of the oldest jazz festivals in the country, the North Carolina Jazz Festival will present its 42nd edition February 3, 4, and 5, 2022, in the ballroom of the Hotel Ballast, with internationally known jazz musicians from across the U.S., Australia, and Italy.
Thursday (7:30–10:30 p.m.): Steve Washington (vocals) with Rossano Sportiello (piano), Chuck Redd (drums), and Herman Burney (bass); Lenore Raphael (piano) with Steve Hobbs (vibes) and Herman Burney (bass); Professor Cunningham’s Jazz Jam with Rossano Sportiello, Nicki Parrott, Bruce Harris, Adrian Cunningham, Houston Person, Chuck Redd, Jonathan Russell, and Nate Najar
Friday and Saturday (7:30 p.m.–12 a.m.): Emily Asher, Ehud Asherie, Herman Burney, Shaye Cohen, Adrian Cunningham, Kevin Dorn, Bruce Harris, Nate Najar, Nicki Parrott, Houston Person, Chuck Redd, Jonathan Russell, Rossano Sportiello, and Dion Tucker play seven sets of traditional and classic jazz each night, with a different leader on each set.
Tickets: Thursday $45 general admission, Friday and Saturday $65 general admission. Each night $25 military, $15 students. $215 patron tickets include Friday and Saturday concerts plus a special patron brunch at 10:30 a.m. Saturday; $240 patron tickets include all the above plus tickets to the Thursday concert.
