As go the music performance events in the Pandemic Era, so go the music industry events. The eighth annual World Vibes Congress is joining the budding livestream ecosystem in 2021. Its entire two-day event will stream on January 2 and 3 on YouTube, the event’s sponsor, Malletech Inc., announced.

The New Jersey-based mallet percussion maker has been presenting the World Vibes Congress since 2014 as a combination trade show, performance, and educational event. The livestreamed version will be no different in that sense, offering nine hours of concerts, clinics, discussions, and live listening sessions.

Its headline artists are primarily jazz musicians—including David Friedman, Stefon Harris, Joe Locke, Mike Mainieri, Tony Miceli, and Warren Wolf. However, this year’s World Vibes Congress also makes room for new-music players, including Colleen Bernstein and marimbaist Andrea Venet.

The 2021 World Vibes Congress will take place on Malletech’s YouTube channel from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on both January 2 (Saturday) and 3 (Sunday). Visit the Congress’ website for more information.
