
The return of live jazz has very slowly begun. One more indication: Sons of Kemet, the London-based quartet led by saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, has announced a North American tour in the spring of 2022.
The band will perform in a dozen cities in the United States and Canada in support of their forthcoming Impulse! album Black to the Future, which was officially released today, May 14.
Tickets for the tour will also become available today at 10 AM local time, with presales on Wednesday, May 12, at 10 AM local.

Besides Hutchings, Sons of Kemet features tuba player Theon Cross and percussionists Edward Wakili-Hick and Tom Skinner. Black to the Future is the group’s fourth album, preceded by Your Queen Is a Reptile (2018), Lest We Forget What We Came Here to Do (2015), and Burn (2013).
