On Saturday, Sept. 10, from 1 – 7 p.m., the 26th annual Rosslyn Jazz Fest, hosted by the Rosslyn Business Improvement District in partnership with Arlington Cultural Affairs, will take place at Gateway Park in Arlington, Va. Headlining the admission-free six-hour concert is Grammy Award-winning Grupo Fantasma, a 10-piece ensemble playing Latin-infused jazz, rock and funk. Also scheduled to perform is D.C.-based musician Akua Allrich, as well as Malian singer-guitarist Vieux Farka Touré and the Glen David Andrews Band.
This year, the festival, which can draw around 8,000 attendees, will include a Kids’ Jazz Zone featuring lawn games and an area where children can build their own instruments, and a Jazz Art Jam, featuring two artists and three poets, that will allow guests to create their own artwork by engaging with the festival’s energy.
