Guitarist Lou Pallo, a longtime member of the Les Paul Trio, is spearheading a recording project that will pay tribute to the late iconic guitarist and inventor. Pallo, who first met Paul in 1963 and performed with him on a weekly basis at New York’s Iridium during Paul’s final years, has announced that the recording will include contributions from Keith Richards, Steve Miller, Slash, Jose Feliciano, Bucky Pizzarelli and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, as well as Nokie Edwards (the Ventures), Eddie Brigati (the Rascals), singer Melinda Doolittle, Frank Vignola, Jon Paris and Arlen and Lexie Roth.

A high-definition documentary is also planned. The project is expected to be completed in early 2012 and is being recorded by Ben Elliott at Showplace Studios in Dover, N.J.
