Robert Glasper’s new Black Radio album is a hit, having entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at number 15. Glasper’s fourth album for Blue Note Records was released on February 28. The album also debuted at number 10 on the Top Current Albums chart, with sales of 20,854 units, and has reached number 3 on the overall iTunes Music Store in the U.S. The album remains number 1 on the iTunes Jazz charts in nine countries, including the U.S., U.K., France, Australia and Japan.
Glasper performed the track “Always Shine” with Lupe Fiasco and Bilal on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman, and Glasper was the subject of a Sunday Arts & Leisure feature in the New York Times. He was also interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered. Glasper is set to perform “Gonna Be Alright (F.T.B.)” with singer Ledisi on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 19 and will also make his SXSW debut with an official showcase at Austin’s Elephant Room at 10:30 p.m. on March 15.
