Verve Remixed: The First Ladies, the latest release in Verve Records’ continuing series of recordings featuring remixes of classic jazz, is set for release July 16. The all-female compilation features 13 tracks by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Marlena Shaw, Astrud Gilberto and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The original tracks have been remixed by producers and DJs including Zeds Dead, the Kaskade, Toro Y Moi, Pretty Lights and Bassnectar, among others.
