New Orleans Jazz Fest Offering Community Partnership Grants

Awards to be given in three categories

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation has announced that it is accepting applications in three categories of our Community Partnership Grants program.

The three categories are:

Jazz & Heritage In-School Educational Programs in Music, Arts and Cultural Traditions. This grant supports arts education in New Orleans area K-12 public schools, by assisting with the purchase of equipment and supplies, or to help pay arts educators’ salaries or fees.

Jazz & Heritage After-School and Summer Educational Programs in Music, Arts and Cultural Traditions. This grant supports organizations that provide after-school and summer programs in music and other arts disciplines.

Jazz Journey Presenting: Festivals and Concerts in Music and Performing Arts. This grant supports nonprofit organizations that employ local musicians and other performing artists at cultural events.

The application deadline for all three categories is Sept. 6. Grant awards will be announced by October 31 and the awards will be given out at a media event on Nov. 21.

The available grants cover activities that occur between September 1, 2011, and August 31, 2012. Applicants will have until Sept. 1, 2012, to submit a final report. Failure to submit a final report will bar grant recipients from seeking Community Partnership Grants in the future.

For more information, contact the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation by calling (504) 558-6100, or by sending email to [email protected].
