New Book Points Spotlight on Miles Davis in 1973

Author spent two days interviewing Davis as he recuperated from car crash

Music journalist Stephen Davis has published a new book, Miles Davis/1973: “My Ego Only Needs a Good Rhythm Section,” recalling the author’s two-day interview with the subject in March 1973. The title is out now on Vigliano Books.

Stephen Davis’ interview, according to a press release, “took place as Miles recovered from double ankle fractures after crashing his Ferrari on New York’s Westside Highway, while also reeling from an arrest in his home on the Upper West Side on gun and drug possession charges, which were quickly dropped.”
