NEA Announces 2013-2014 NEA Jazz Masters Live Grants

Grants support opportunities to engage with NEA Jazz Masters

As part of the 2013-2014 NEA Jazz Masters Live grants, the NEA will support opportunities for audiences around the country to interact with NEA Jazz Masters through performance and educational activities, it was announced by the National Endowment for the Arts. The 2013-2014 NEA Jazz Masters Live program will provide $75,000 in grants to six nonprofit organizations to present NEA Jazz Masters at performance and educational activities. The program offers opportunities for the public to engage with the NEA Jazz Masters through such activities as performances, speaking engagements, master classes, workshops, lecture/demonstrations, panel discussions, and public interviews or speaker forums.

Among the NEA Jazz Masters scheduled to participate in NEA Jazz Masters Live events are Ron Carter (1998), Jack DeJohnette (2012), Lou Donaldson (2013), Benny Golson (1996), Bobby Hutcherson (2010), Sheila Jordan (2012), Eddie Palmieri (2013), Wayne Shorter (1998), and McCoy Tyner (2002).

The 2013-2014 NEA Jazz Masters Live grantees are:
