Singer Lizz Wright will appear with such artists as Patti Austin, Cassandra Wilson, Andra Day, Monica Mancini, David Alan Grier, Afro Blue and actor Kevin Spacey, for the Apollo Theater’s 100: The Apollo Celebrates Ella! concert, honoring the “First Lady of Song,” Ella Fitzgerald, and her relationship with the famed New York City venue. The tribute concert, which will feature the Count Basie Orchestra, directed by Scotty Barnhart, as musical backing, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 8 p.m.

Guest appearances include pianist Shelly Berg, bassist Nathan East, drummer Gregg Field and guitarist Brian Nova.

“Ella Fitzgerald delivered songs with such stunning clarity and freedom that she stirred the band and audience at once. From any angle of technical creative measure, she’s still one of the greatest voices and musicians of all time. When that gracious sound crosses a room today, it’s still warm, vulnerable, and wild with sheer power,” said Wright, who appears at the Apollo in advance of upcoming European tour, in a press release.
