Juilliard Jazz has announced the appointment of Dr. Aaron Flagg as Chair and Associate Director, beginning July 15. Flagg has been serving as Acting Chair and Associate Director this academic year at Juilliard while on a one-year sabbatical from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, where he has been Dean and Professor of Music since 2009. In his appointment as Chair and Associate Director, he will continue to teach courses, develop interdivisional collaborations and work closely with Juilliard Jazz Director Wynton Marsalis to oversee the department.
