Are you ready for record-geek Christmas, taking place Saturday, April 22? This year marks the 10th anniversary of Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record shops and the diehard music fans who frequent them. Shops around the country will be celebrating by hosting special events and selling records off “the List,” the yearly crop of limited-edition platters available only at participating Record Store Day outlets. From that massive file, we’ve plucked the records that JazzTimes readers will want to snag. Remember that not all participating stores are going to have all of these titles. (The numbers at far right in each listing indicate the run.)
For more information and to locate a participating shop near you, visit the official Record Store Day site.
