Jazzmobile will present trombonist/composer Wycliffe Gordon’s new original score to Oscar Micheaux’s 78-minute 1920 silent film Within Our Gates this Friday, August 26, at 8:00 pm, at the Miller Theater in New York. The film will be screened with the score performed live with an 18-piece orchestra and two guest vocalists.
Miller Theater is located at Columbia University School of the Arts, 2960 Broadway at 116th Street, in New York City. The film will be followed by a conversation and Q&A session with the composer.
