Jazz Journalists Association Announces Award Winners in Music Categories

The winners of the Jazz Journalists Association’s 18th annual Jazz Awards for Music and Recording have been announced. A Lifetime Achievement award is being given to Herbie Hancock, while Wayne Shorter takes the Musician of the Year honor.

Winners of the JJA’s awards for journalism and media will be announced at the organization’s June 11 Jazz Awards Party in New York City, at the Blue Note Jazz Club. This ticketed event is open to the public.
